June 19, 2002 Whiting Ranch 7 mile hike with Bob Johnson and Dick Sar
(In training for our upcoming Mammoth and Yosemite backpack trip!)
This is Sierra's second trip to Whiting Ranch. A little warm today - so Bob had the good idea to reverse the 7 mile loop so the route would have us in the shade of the best trees for the last third of the trail. Wasn't fast enough to catch Sierra pointing at the letter "L" in lion. Doug and Michelle. We got to see lots of bunnies and a few squirrels today. Doug was running down the trail alone to get in position to take some video of Sierra and Michelle running down the trail when he surprised a deer. It was gone before Sierra could get a look. Darn!
