22nd annual Father's Day half marathon run
(13.1 miles - Irvine to Laguna Beach)
Doug & Karen at Heisler Park in Laguna Beach - after the run and a change of clothes. Karen had to scoot to the park to grab a picnic table so didn't get the usual pictures of us finishing the run. Doug's time was 1:49:51. This is his new second fastest time for the "official" Dad's Day run (8 min 23 seconds per mile average pace). Doug's fastest time was set way back in 1992 - 10 years ago.
Michelle kissing the park Unicorn art!This was the first time Michelle ran the Dad's Day half marathon and Doug's 22nd. Michelle was the rabbit that helped Doug do much better than he expected. With about 2 miles to go, Michelle asked dad if it was OK to blast off for the rest of the run. She rapidly zoomed off into the distance and finished in 1:47:40 (an 8 minutes 13 seconds per mile pace).

Sierra was a bit apprehensive as the waves kept rolling in to shore. Michelle and Sierra Sierra is more interested in the roaring, splashing waves that getting her picture taken!
