Feb 2, 2002 9.3 mile Winter Trail Running Series Race
Ready - Get Set - GO!
8 AM and Randy Davis of RND Running starts the 9.3 mile (15k) event. It is held in the Cleveland National Forest off of the Ortega Highway. Elevation about 3,000 feet. Lots of ups and downs, rocky terrain, etc.
Michelle finished in 1 hour 38 minutes (10:31 minutes per mile). Came in 37th overall out of 54 runners and 7th in the Women's division. Doug finished in 1:40:40 (10:49 minutes per mile). 43rd out of 54 runners. Eighth in the Men's over 50 division. This was 4 minutes plus faster than his previous best time (1:44:54) for the same run in - set in 1998.
No one older than Doug beat his time! (simply because there was no one older than him running the event!) All the results can be seen at the RND Running web site.
