January 22, 2002 7 mile hill run
Cool computer diddled cover of People magazine was done by Chuck Specht as a Birthday present for Michelle. In case you haven't figured it out, Michelle is an avid Brad Pitt fan!
Getting ready to blow out her birthday cake! Action! The second birthday present creation form Chuck. Practical Dad bought her a boring, but useful hip belt water bottle carrier for use in the upcoming trail run event. Will have to think up something classier for next year.
January 22 run. Michelle is wearing her new running jacket and pants. A birthday present from neighbor's Lisa and Stuart who see her zooming by all the time with Sierra on the way to the hills. Michelle's normally runs while pushing Sierra in the baby jogger. When we run together we take turns pushing. These short steep sections can be tough! Today we are running the 7 mile route to the blue fence. Sierra enjoys the one and only drinking fountain along the way. This is FUN! Michelle and now 2 year old Sierra out at the blue fence with a lovely view of the Pacific ocean. Here you can see some of the City of South Laguna Beach below. Grandpa Doug and Sierra. You can even see three boats in the water. It is now 8 days since grandpa Doug's Humpty Dumpty. Arm bruise is starting to go down in size, but rib bruise seems to be still getting bigger. Did the 7.2 mile Winter Trail event last Saturday in 1hr 26 minutes. Rib and shoulder hurt a bit the whole time so I took it easy. Best time was 1:23 in 1999 and worst was 1:30 in 1998. So not bad.
