December 31, 2001 Sierra's New VW Beetle Electric Ride-on toy
Grandpa - what is this?
Starting to make some sense to her once we got the steering wheel
installed.
Grunt. Grunt. Two and a half hours of assembly
required (and a Masters degree). Grandpa loves this stuff -
same as solving a jigsaw puzzle for entertainment!
Michelle had a lot of fun with the decorating once Sierra's VW was
built. Sierra is starting to like this new toy.
Michelle, Sierra and Doug. Time for a test ride.
Sierra figured out the door right away. We taught her how
the throttle pedal on the floor makes the wheel turn. What
she did was walk into the Beetle and without sitting down in the
seat or putting both hands on the steering wheel, she steps on the
throttle. She really scared herself good when it took off
from under her! Now Michelle is teaching her to sit in it
and hold the wheel before touching the throttle.
One
minute later the scare is over and she is doing ballet in the
culdesac.
(Note Grandpa
Doug's shiny red Porsche in the background. New "looking"
only. Just turned 406,000 miles. Doug bought it new in
1972! Check the license plate.)
She
is a dancin' lady! (Where is the Bee Gee's disco music?)
