Hi Dottie,
Just
wanted to send a THANK YOU and tell you how much Judy & I enjoyed the
class reunion. The committee did a great job in putting it all together
and we especially enjoyed the trip, back in time, to South Shore. It was
like time stood still for us. Seeing the old neighborhood around the
school, the halls, classrooms and gyms, brought back many a fond memories.
It was nice to see the school in such good condition and I am glad that it
will remain open as a school in the future. Friday and Saturday nights
were great for rekindling old friendships and making new ones with
classmates we have not seen in 45 years.
Again,
a GREAT job done by the whole reunion committee and now we are looking
forward to possibly a 50th or 55th reunion.
Thanks for a wonderful and
memorable weekend,
Howie & Judy Swidler

Dear Dottie:
I'm still in the glow of the
reunion. Be sure you put me on the list to buy the video. That will be
another great way to enjoy the reunion.
Are you going through a let down? You did such a great job and worked so
hard. Believe me all the good work you did showed. It's a good thing I
didn’t
teach English! Such a sentence!
Fondly, Bobbie (Roberta Tugenberg) |

Dottie,
Nothing special to say
except to once again congratulate you on the
reunion. your
planning and execution were excellent.
You should be very proud of yourself and your
committee. Everything was special and all enjoyed themselves. Thanks for
all the hard work. Thanks again.
Sincerely, Bob Martin

Gratitude:
Dear
Dottie, Rich and
Ina
Really, I cant thank you enough for bringing the class of
'57 together
again. I cant believe the amount of time and work you put in to planning
and ultimately pulling off this event. I am very grateful for your
efforts. I feel so fortunate to have lived in South Shore in the fifties
before the sixties exploded and changed the world forever. It was rich in
so many ways and all of it came streaming back to me in those two days
this May -going
back to the school and touring our old neighborhood. I
havent lived in
Chicago for some time but have carried it with
me in my heart my entire adult life. It was wonderful seeing old
classmates as well. I felt so proud of everyone and of being a part of
that class in that time in my life. Thank you, thank you, thank you. When
you convene your group again please share with them my gratitude and best
wishes. Bravo!
Sincerely,
Elaine

Dottie:
I am enormously grateful for
your decision to have a reunion - and for all the work your committee put
into making it such a wonderful event.
I hope that you will
think seriously about coming to NYC
for fun or culture I would love to have you stay with me.
I am no more than a few
subway stops from all the best things to see and do.
You might want to consider coming between
Thanksgiving and Christmas when the stores and streets are particularly
beautiful. But I would be happy
to see you any time.
Again, my thanks for bringing us together. Liz is
going to visit me from Albany. I'm
thinking about going hiking with
Laurie and
Jon in CO - and
we're all talking about getting together again.
It was
a great weekend. Thanks so much!

Great Job!
Dear
Dottie and Reunion Committee,
You guys really did a
great job. I had wondered about how some of the stuff would work out, but
now that the event is over, I truly think you made excellent selections of
what we did, where we did
it, and
how it was done.
It was a great event. I
enjoyed talking to all the folks I hadn't
seen for all these years
" and it is my
impression everyone else had
the same experience.
I
have one small suggestion for our expert web masters
(Doug and Rich)
- mostly because I forgot to do this myself - could we put the sign-up
sheets for the grade school picture orders up on the web? I forgot to sign
up for a Koz
picture!

Dottie,
Please forgive my not
responding earlier but I do want you to know how great the weekend turned
out to be. Everyone I talk to knows about our reunion and what a fantastic
weekend it was because of all the time, effort and planning that you and
all the members of the committee puy
into making it a wonderful memory that will last for a long time.
You thought of
everything and I only hope that you and all the others on the committee
had the opportunity to enjoy our time together as much as all of the
non
participants did.
Thanks again for a great job
well done and I look forward to reviewing the video and the pictures,

Subj: RE: REUNION
PHOTOS ON WEB SITE
Thanks. They are very nice. Just returned,
as I was in San Francisco for a seminar. Let me add my own loud THANKS TO
ALL!! for
a terrific
job. Besides the renewed friendships, chilly
weather (for us "Left Coast"
folks), and seeing the school, the
highlights were
MITCHELL'S
peppermint/hot
fudge, and seeing Mrs. Tugenberg.
Back to normal now, including the horrible Cubs well below .500 already.
Kindest regards, Dick Snyder |

Dear
Dottie and
Ina May:
Bob and I had a wonderful time at the reunion. It was a week end that I
will recall with fond memories. You folks did a remarkable job in
organizing all of the activities. It was thrilling to see my former
students as adults and grand parents! It was wonderful to hear of their
individual successes in life. Please convey my thanks to everyone on the
committee.
Fondly, Bobbie |

Muchas
gracias from
Heln Lundgrin
Dottie,
What can I say?
You, Ina,
Richard, Doug
and the entire committee did a helluva
Job. I really
enjoyed myself. It's
amazing how many fond memories
come flowing back.
I'm looking forward in
returning
from Georgia and having lunch with Ina. Maybe you could one day join
us. Ina lives only 2 blocks from me and our mutual laziness
in meeting for lunch is quite
apparent. Ho Ho. I'll call
you if I'm going
to be at Zanies Comedy Club.
If you
ever-so-slightly
think of
it, could you mail me that booklet on Retirement Homes you said might help
me in my ever-so-slightly
progressing comedy career. My address is 55
W. Chestnut. 112906,
Chgo
IL,
60610. My new e-mail
or •-female
is helenlondon2002@yahoo.com.
Muchas gracias again and all of us graduates will
never forget you and your committee.
Lovingly, Heln Lundgrin |

Dottie,
I have planned to contact you as soon as we returned,
but playing catch-up with business stuff has occupied most of my time.
I
Just wanted to tell you that the reunion was absolutely the most fun I
have had with my clothes on since those days at the
"overflow"!!!
Congratulations to you and all of the Committee for job more than well
done! Ina was kind enough to give Fay and I ride downtown to my sister's
home on Sunday. Since she doesnt
have email at the moment, please thank her again when you see her - and
remind her to pass an email address along whenever she gets one.
As to
the T-shirt, we washed it and it is still enormous. If a spare Large size
remains available, maybe you can pass it on to Doug the next time he is in
Chicago - seems as if he will be back before I visit.
Regards, Denny Flanzer |

I just want to say thank
you for helping put together such a wonderful reunion.
The whole committee did a
great job. Marty & I enjoyed every minute of the two evenings we
attended--we were just sorry to see the time pass so quickly. It was so
much fun to see all the "old" faces and get reaquainted.
Thank you again for all
your hard work.

Dear Dottie,

Dear Dottie, Ina and All
Committee Members,
While this note is belated
it is none-the-less heartfelt in its sincerity.
The reunion weekend was
beyond fabulous from beginning to end. Your planning was evident in
every detail. From the hotel/restaurant choices, banjo band, bus trip,
memorabilia and posters, food (oh, the food!), bus trip, reunion book,
goody bags, guest teachers and final program.....How clever is that Dave
Apter and how creative the prizes presented?
The web site is/was so
well done and wonderfully informative and fun. While I feel I was able
to visit with only a third of the people I wanted to, I know I can make
contact with those I missed via snail or e-mail with the help of the web
site.
Most of all, the relaxed
atmosphere seemed to be a reflection of the committee's camaraderie. You
had a good time and we had a terrific time. Because of the positive
feelings generated at this high school reunion there are serious
conversations going on about a 50th year reunion for those of us who
graduated from Bryn Mawr!
Again, I and so many
others had an absolutely wonderful weekend in Chicago in May and
thank-you all for your dedication to our amazing 45th SSHS reunion.
Warm regards,
Bonnie Bohne Olson
