RE: 501 (c) (3) Charitable Contribution
From: June, 1957 Class of South Shore High
School
To: June, 2002 graduates of South Shore High
School
to Cherise Hall,
Kenya Passin, and Ulysses Ruff.
Dear Dr. Thomas,
In
conformity with our donative intentions set forth in our April 10, 2002
letter to Alyson Cooke, Executive Director of Children's First Fund, we
have enclosed our check for $1,800.00 made payable to South Shore High
School. The $1,800.00 should be divided up and presented on or before
graduation to the following students in the percentages as set out below:
1. Fifty percent (50% or $900.00) thereof to CHERISE HALL,
who is graduating with the top grade point average in the June, 2002 South
Shore High School class.
2. Thirty percent (30% or $600.00) thereof to KENYA
PASSIN, who is graduating with the second best grade point average in
the June, 2002 South Shore High School class.
3. Twenty percent (20% or $300.00) thereof to ULYSSES
RUFF, who is graduating with the third best grade point average in the
June, 2002 South Shore High School class.
We
hope that these gifts to these three outstanding South Shore High School
students will be helpful in enabling each of them to take advantage of
educational opportunities they were not otherwise have been able pursue.
Respectfully,
Dorothea Benjamin

Also, keep in mind that at the Saturday night dinner, an additional
$500.00 was collected and given to Dr. Larry Thomas (Principal) for the
Mr. and Ms. scholarship fund which he talked about with us. So, thus
far, we have contributed $2,300.00 in scholarship funds to the June, 2002
class of South Shore High School. This exceeded our original goal by
over 100%, as we had originally estimated that about $1,000.00 would be
collected.
