The occasion was Jim & Joyce Boyer's 50th Anniversary party

From Joanie Miller:

We were up in Waupaca, Wisconsin, where Jim was Mayor for a couple of terms. He was honored as "Mayor of the Century" for his influence in having a lovely Library/City Hall built during his tenure. "How 'bout that for a legacy?"

The weekend festivities were June, 25, 26, 27 and included a pontoon boat ride on the Chain of Lakes, a Margaritaville beach party, renewal of vows - with all 8 original attendants walking down the aisle again! There was constant music (50s style, of course...and a few other things thrown in) after dinner and dancing, and dancing, and dancing. On Sunday, there was a corn roast at a wonderful lakefront park.
 

A couple of visuals of us during what was as perfect a weekend as could be:  Jim Boyer and Joyce (Darrah)'s 50th wedding anniversary, and there's one pic (copy) from the actual wedding. Need any help with names? Recognize anyone?

 

There's just something special and magical that happens whenever we get together ... the feeling that we're all about 17-18 years old (most of the time) and the idea that it always seems as if we were together just last week...or so.

 

Magic seemed to have worked for the weather, too! It was just spectacular!

 

We're so lucky to have come from a special place and during a special time...and be able to recreate the feelings of fun and fellowship that we share.
